Extension Policy

Last updated: February 12, 2026. This policy describes how the Talk AIARCHIVE browser extension operates.

The Talk AIARCHIVE extension helps you archive AI conversations from ChatGPT into your Talk AIARCHIVE account, and optionally share selected conversations to the public library from the web app.

1. What the extension does

  • Runs on the ChatGPT website to detect and collect conversation content displayed on the page.
  • Captures page content locally after you authorize the extension.
  • Uploads the conversation to Talk AIARCHIVE for private archiving under your account.

2. What the extension does not do

  • It does not collect your browsing history on other websites.
  • It does not access content outside the ChatGPT page context relevant to the current conversation.
  • It does not publish anything publicly by itself—public sharing is an explicit action in the web app.

3. Authorization and local capture

Pairing is performed through the Talk AIARCHIVE website. After you authorize, the extension stores credentials locally in your browser (extension storage). The extension captures conversation content on the ChatGPT page locally and then transmits it to Talk AIARCHIVE over HTTPS.

For details about data categories and privacy handling specific to the plugin/extension, see the Plugin Privacy Policy.

4. Device pairing and revocation

Device access can be managed in /account. If you revoke a device, the server will reject future extension sync requests for that device, and the extension should prompt you to re-pair.

5. Data isolation

Archived conversations are stored under your account and isolated by user_id. The extension is designed to upload to your own account only; it cannot read other users’ private archives.
